The seventh branch of the Bucharest Metropolitan Library, the Emil Gârleanu library, was reopened on Thursday, after more than two years remaining closed to the public because the space hosting it had been relocated.
Located on Octavian Goga Blvd. 6, Emil Gârleanu Library, the only library for children in sector 3, houses almost 15,000 volumes, and is equipped with reading room, exhibition hall, magazine and newspaper collections, CDs for language learning. Besides all this within the library there is also a toy library, a special space where children can enhance their imagination.
Although the official opening of the new headquarters took place on Thursday, hundreds of parents and children living in the area began enrolling several weeks ago, library staff said.

The library will be equipped with new computers, because two of the old ones were stolen two weeks ago. The computers will be connected to the internet, and the children will be able to reach the information sought.
"The children's library is the most conservative kind of library, and we hope to remain that way, keeping the universe of children unaltered", said Florin Rotaru as director of the Metropolitan Library of Bucharest, continuing to inform that in the Nordic countries the state subsidizes book production for children, and the release of animated films containing scenes of violence is planned at late hours.
In less than a month near the Emil Gârleanu Library, the first media library in Bucharest will open.
The head of children's programs at the Bucharest Metropolitan Library, Delia Nistor, said that the Otilia Cazimir library, located in sector 4, is in the process of being modernized and will be reopened on May 15th.
