Another reason why some doctors do not recommend peanuts in pregnant women is aflatoxin. According to them, some types of peanuts and nuts may contain traces of aflatoxin, a toxin produced by the mold that sometimes grows in the woody rind of fruits. It is a dangerous toxin that affects the liver and can cause cancer. It seems, however, that traces of aflatoxin in nuts and nuts are rarely encountered, and the quantities are so small that it would require a very high consumption of such fruits to affect the health of the pregnant woman and the fetus.

The occasional consumption and in moderate quantities of nuts and nuts is healthy and recommended for healthy pregnant women, who do not suffer from allergies and do not have a family history with such conditions.
