Videanu promises to do kindergartens

The capital's mayoralty intends to increase the number of kindergartens in Bucharest, both through the acquisition of buildings that will turn them into kindergartens, as well as by the construction of new ones, said the general mayor, Adriean Videanu. "We have two plans that we will follow, namely to buy the buildings directly and to move quickly to their arrangement or to build," said Videanu.

According to him, the municipality will buy about eight-nine old buildings, located in sectors 4, 5, 2 and 3, which he will turn into kindergartens. "In the next four to five months we hope to arrange about five of these buildings, and the kindergartens will be ready," Videanu explained.

The Minister of Education, Mihail Hardau, said, at the end of February, that there is currently a deficit of over eight thousand places in the kindergartens of Bucharest, the figure being taken after the concrete requests submitted by the parents. Hardau also said that he intends to raise this issue to the general mayor of the capital, Adriean Videanu, to see if the municipality can get involved in solving the situation.
