It's an impressive story about the oppressions faced by African-American slaves employed in the homes of wealthy white people in Mississippi in the 1960s. The novel is written from the point of view of three good friends: the housekeepers Abileen and Minny, along with Skeeter, in front of a wealthy family in the area. The book was screened in 2011.
