All children of school age receive the state allowance.
Children of school age will receive allowances even if they do not attend classes. The regulation was decided by a sentence of the Constitutional Court and will apply Starting this month.
Earlier the law said that only children who go to school can benefit from state allowances. The Constitutional Court considered this discriminatory against the students who do not attend the courses of an educational unit and decided that the Ministry of Labor should amend the law.
The Ministry of Labor issued an Emergency Ordinance that amended the law on the state allowance for children of large school age. At the request of the parents, the mayors will have to certify the documents of civil status, according to which the decision of granting the state allocations to the labor directions will be issued.
Currently, all children of school age receive the state allowance of 24 lei.
