OWNZONES MEDIA NETWORK and UPC Romania launch the OWNZONES PASSPORT Romania application

OwnZones Media Network (OMN), a global provider of technology, distribution and content for the OTT market together with UPC Romania, part of the Liberty Global group, announces the launch of the OwnZones Passport Romania application. Available exclusively to UPC subscribers who own the latest generation HORIZON mediabox, the application debuts with a selection of original series with influencers from Romania and the USA, local news aimed mainly at the "millennials" generation and a rich offer of top Hollywood movies.

"Ownzones Passport Romania is a premium application that offers content exclusively developed according to the specifics of the Romanian market," said Dan Goman, founder and CEO of OMN. "We are excited to start a partnership with UPC Romania on the new HORIZON platform and we consider that there are excellent opportunities to offer similar solutions in other markets."

"The HORIZON television platform has an interactive application portal, with users having access to diversified local and international content relevant to each audience segment. It is a unique service on the Romanian market, through which any TV becomes a smart TV. Launching the OwnZones Passport application on our video platform supports UPC's strategy to provide the best entertainment experience to customers, coming with original premium content. ”Said Bogdan Bucurei, Marketing Director of UPC Romania.

OMN provides all the programs for the new OwnZones platform, including the production of four original series, with the stars Anna Lesko, Adelina Pestritu, Paul Siserman and Catalin Botezatu.

These will be complemented by the original series already available on Ownzones.com, such as "Chloe on Pointe" with Chloe Lukasiak, former star of "Dance Moms", and "Hollywood DIY with How2Girl Courtney Sixx." Through the partnership with Circa, a news and entertainment in rapid expansion, OwnZones will create a dedicated news bureau, with a permanent correspondent in Bucharest, who will publish daily the latest news, documentaries and lifestyle reports. The app will also feature a selection of Hollywood films, including a collection of Star Trek films and the exclusive documentary series "The Captains", made by William Shatner.

"I am delighted that the series 'The Captains' will make its Romanian debut on OwnZones Passport Romania," said Shatner, who played the role of Captain Kirk in the first Star Trek series and in the feature films based on it.

All UPC clients that have the HORIZON mediabox can access the OwnZones content from the application portal. More details here: www.upc.ro/ownzones
