These provisions have stirred up the anger of the feminist organizations in Romania and of those who fight against discrimination of any kind.
The chair of the commission for equal opportunities for women and men in the Chamber of Deputies, Minodora Cliveti, told us: "Women who wanted to become students in military higher education institutions were required to give a written statement that they assumed the risk of being Article 16 of the Romanian Constitution guarantees equal opportunities between women and men for access to public functions.

This is a serious case of discrimination. "
For this serious violation of social equality, the People's Advocate, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Defense were notified. Following the pressures made by the civil society, the Minister of Defense was forced to return to the discriminatory selection criteria. Minodora Cliveti told us that there were problems some time ago, when we tried to limit the number of places occupied by student-girls, because they learned better than boys.
